yet another pointless blog…

CNY was Waaay COool. (two CNY Eve dinners cuz vietnam celebrates Tet (what they call CNY) one day before CNY - for more info wiki for Tet Festival.)

the emo part comes from the warning that this may well be the last CNY with my parents for a few years - as i go overseas (well further overseas at any rate) to study.

haha. im feeling old. Jeez. 19 ler…..

sadness.

well.. on the other hand… life in stressity here makes it almost impossible to spend too much time wallowing in emo-ness cuz theres just too much things going on.

study for one (actually about 99.99% studies - yes im a nerd. )

im coming to the conclusion i might end up studying medicine more or less by default.

cuz well…
engineering - prolly gonna be not-so-easy to find job
accounting / business / law - "then WHY did you take trip sci?!?"
research / biotech - but i dont really like research…
so that leaves…
doctor / pharmacy / dentistry.

mmm.. but i do have confidence issues… esp with the interview.

got lotsa reading up to do.

i’m pretty sure the whole malaysian blogging community (well at LEAST the kuchingites anyhow) has heard about the whole jeffooi / ahirudin aka rocky vs NSTP lawsuit.

which i think is a little unfair.

jeez. talk about the pot calling the kettle black. NSTP is sueing them for libel. *raised eyebrows*

so the courtroom battle complete with demonstrators, the press - even the ST!! - and all wages… and Malaysia is known for its exemplary record for freedom of speech once again.

malaysia boleh, indeed.

mmm… the other weird thing - to me anyhow, and im no lawyer - is that the bloggers can apparently get into trouble because of readers comments. blah. i know.. comments can be filtered, etc. but. the reason why its a COMMENT page is for people to bitch about your post.

and no blogger - no matter how free - can expect to monitor the comments posted every minute of every day (more so if its a popular blog with readership like 10k times of mine)

anyway few would bother with small fry (minute fry?) like me.

i really don’t think NSTP is going about it the right way. sueing bloggers (whom btw, provide much appreciated views of "the other side") is just going to get them more riled up. meaning more likely to insult/ignore mainstream media altogether. faced with dwindling readership…….. is it a good idea to like piss off the whole malaysian middle class who have some idea of "freedom of speech".
